Datasets/Regional Climatologies/USA

This region is defined by 22.5° to 52.5°N and by 125° to 65°E. These climatologies were constructed by Olga Brown during the period February to April 1994. At present fields exist for TMP, TMX, TMN, PRE, WND, VAP, CLD, SUN and RD0 and at three elevations LO, MN and HI. The raw USA 1961-90 station data (some 600 stations) which were used in the interpolation were obtained from NCDC at Ashville and some Canadian and Mexican station data were also used. A total of ???? 0.5° latitude/longitude land cells exist for the region. The mean elevation climatologies for TMP, TMX, TMN, PRE, WND, VAP and CLD are presently loaded in SCENGEN.

No independent documentation yet exists for this climatology. This work was funded by EPRI through a subcontract from Batelle, Washington, via OIES in Boulder, Colorado.
